Changelog
What has changed in Puuunch, newest first. Updates are small and frequent rather than big and rare.
Time off on the timesheet
A time entry can now be a day off: vacation, sick, a statutory holiday or parental leave. It is a type on the entry rather than a reserved project, so a day off never turns up in a project report or a budget. Vacation and sick days come off the bank of hours set for each person, which finally makes “days left” a number that moves.
Team dashboard
One screen for managers: who has not filed their timesheet, the last eight complete weeks person by person, and the leave everyone has taken this year. Sorted furthest-behind first, because that is where a word is worth having. The chart puts hours worked and leave side by side, week by week.
Profile photos
From Account → Photo, anyone can upload their picture. It stands in for their initial everywhere the interface draws an avatar. The image is centre-cropped and shrunk on the way in, so a 36-pixel circle no longer downloads a phone photo.
Charts draw in full
The line on the reports, project and client screens was rebuilt twice as the page loaded, which cut its animation short: the line sat flat at zero and then vanished. Fixed everywhere at once.
Clients, project pages and budgets
Clients are records of their own now, with a page each and the projects behind them. Every project has its own page too — hours over time, the totals, the internal cost and the time per person. Give a project a budget in hours and Puuunch emails you at 80% and again at 100%. Each project also says how it bills: not at all, a project rate, each person’s rate, or a fixed fee.
Download your data
From Account → Your data, every person can download everything Puuunch holds about them. And from Settings → Export, managers can download the organization’s full records — people, projects, time entries, expenses and submitted weeks — in a single file.
Email address confirmation
New signups confirm their address by email. Accounts created with Google are confirmed automatically, and invitations are confirmed by following the link.
Start and end times
A time entry now accepts a time range as well as a free-form total. The total works itself out, including when the range crosses midnight.
Dark mode across the site
The public site now follows your theme, as the app already did. No more white flash moving from the marketing pages into your timesheets.
Paid holidays
Set your paid holidays in settings, one at a time or from a preset for Canada or the United States.
Expenses, approvals and per-seat billing
Expenses are logged week by week with their receipts, weeks can be submitted for approval, and the subscription is billed per seat with a seven-day free trial.
